What to give an agency before kickoff
Prepare a useful evidence pack without handing over unrestricted access.
Share the business context
Write down the customer, the offer, the buying process and the business constraint. Include actual objections from sales and the decision you need the agency to support. A long brand presentation cannot replace a clear problem statement. Label estimates and unknowns.
Inventory assets and access
List accounts, content, editable designs, reports and integrations. Identify the owner and minimum permission needed for each. Use account invitations or an appropriate secret-sharing process; do not put passwords into a general briefing document. Retain your own administrative access.
Close the readiness loop
Ask the agency to return a received/missing list before kickoff. Every missing input should have an owner and a consequence for scope or sequence. Example: a site can be designed with sample content internally, but publication must wait for approved factual copy.
Take this checklist
- One-page business context.
- Asset and account inventory.
- Approvers and expected response times.
- Written list of missing inputs.
